Toto Gamboa here folks! This photography craze has caught up with me and its been very addictive ever since I started with my first point and shoot, a Canon A40,in 2004. It just snowballed when I got my first DSLR in 2007.
I have tried different types of subjects but birds have always taken my time and attention, and punctured my thin pocket. Perhaps my interest in birds can be traced during my childhood days where I had several birds as pets and when I got hooked in bird hunting during my teen years in Negros Occidental. I realize it makes no sense killing our national treasures so as soon as I regain some capability of shooting birds once again, I thought it should be preserved and this time I shoot with a camera.
Bird photography for me, initially, was meant as a destressing activity to relieve me from the mentally draining effects of designing databases and writing software. Now it puts too much stress mentally on me so I need to design more databases and write more software so my pocket can withstand the challenges that come with bird photography.
After a bit more than a year, I just recently had photographed my 100th species and I am hoping to get my next 100. They say it is harder than the first, but I am up for the challenge. While I do that, you might want to take a look at some of my fave shots.
