Hello all Steve from England here Once I saw this forum I had to join and am in awe of the beautiful species you have in the Philippines and the skill you all demonstrate in taking their images for us all to admire so well, so thanks for that. In particular I am in love with the Java sparrow (lonchura oryzivora) and in fact I keep and breed these birds as a hobby in the UK . I hope this offends no one on the forum but I am trying to promote the species from all angles with the promotion of my website - www.justjavas.co.uk - and the information you lucky people havce in actually witnessing the behavour of the Java in the wild is like a dream come true to me. So if you have any images or information at all on the wonderful Java sparrow please do let me know. Best regards I am now off to look at all the fantasic photos on this site, it may take a while ;D

Welcome to PBPF, Steve. We appreciate your candor in saying up front that you breed Java Sparrows. Not many among PBPF members are keen on captive breeding of birds, but you're welcome to browse the forums and to take part in wild bird photography discussions.

Hi Steve,
I went to your website and noticed that you have a note there saying that the other photos that you used there are from other websites.
Please do not use any of the photos here or at any of the member's websites without asking permission first. Thanks a lot.
Welcome to the forum.

Hi Thanks for the welcome and please be assured that it is not my intention to cause any problems here or elsewhere as a matter of fact, I understand you are all wild bird lovers and this is why I made an honest statement from the beginning. I am driven by my love of the Java sparrow and I want to help to promote the bird in as many ways as possible (see kutilang and rare finch links on my website homepage) and ask you to remember where I am living and thus real help in conservation of wild birds etc. is rather limited to me. Regarding using images for the website of mine; yes permission will be asked as one of your members can already testify to. Thanks Steve
