hello! my name is roche. i live in baliuag, bulacan but i work in quezon city during weekdays.
i am a mountainbiker and i was led to this site by a fellow mountainbiker who is also a member here (cathya).
my other mountainbiker colleague, onalokib, has also just signed on.
i have not gone to many birding trips, but i am fortunate that my home in baliuag is only 15 kms away from Candaba Swamp, so it only takes less than an hour to get there on my bike. i visited Candaba during migration season for the first time a few years back, but i wasn't into birding then yet. i only "saw" (i.e., noticed) cattle egrets then, because they were so numerous. i wasn't yet sensitive to the presence of many other types of birds. to me then, everything was a pipit or a maya. anyway despite my shameful ignorance, i was very much attracted to egrets. i thought their snowy white color and slender bodies were very beautiful.
over the years i'd visited Candaba Swamp several times more between November to February. i'd taken pictures of these trips with my old Olympus C750. but it is only these past few months that i discovered that there is such as thing as birdwatching, and got properly introduced to some of the people who are into it, the places they go to, and the equipment they use. sa loob-loob ko, meron palang ganun. ;D
anyway, since then i've gone birding in UP Diliman and the area in Taguig where they are constructing C6. (another fellow mountainbiker/birdwatcher took me there, but he isn't on this board yet i think).
i hope to do more birding trips. and someday i hope to have the right gear and skills to take even half as good a photo as you guys do.
