I realized that I haven't baptized this lens with lunar shots yet, so I got out of bed early this morning to have a go at the very thin phase of the moon. This is resized to 75% of the original pixel size, but the 100% view has similar sharpness. 40D + 400 2.8 IS + stacked Canon 2x/Sigma 1.4x TCs, shooting info embedded in the photo:

That's a real beauty Ka Mastah! That 400 2.8 can take a 2x and 1.4 X combo real well! Another Oconific shot! :-)

Thanks, Bobby! I got up again early this morning to check out if the even thinner Moon is still visible. Yes it was, but I had to use only a 2x TC to have enough light hit the sensor at the same f/18 Av, 1/30 sec Tv and ISO 320 as yesterday's shot. As I was getting out of our garage, I looked up to the sky and it was a great spectacle. I smiled back. What else can you do? Oh, what a beautiful morning! Oh, what a beautiful day! Thanks for seizing the moment, Ka Mastah. telyds.
