Tonji and I didn't spend All Saints Day at the cemetery .. instead, we went birding in Mt. Palay Palay! I think our dear departed ones must have approved because we had a great birding day. I really could not believe my eyes when we drove by a bright red bird shape sitting quietly on a branch. We saw this bird before in Mt. Makiling and I did not expect to see it on Mt. Palay Palay too. Heck, we were even planning to go to Bohol to see this bird!! It was such a treat to be able to see and photograph this bird. Now, I don't have to go to Bohol (yet)! Thank you so much guys!! Thank you!! We heard more than one Trogon in the area, they making a lot of calls. At first though, we thought the calls were monkeys. Then, when we saw this bird, we realized we were hearing Trogons. We were able to compare the call to a Trogon recording. We only saw one Trogon though. Edu -- I didn't realize I was on 1/50 until AFTER I got home! If I could do the shot over, I'd choose a higher speed! I'm REALLY glad it all worked out for this shot!

Well it really worked out then, two-folds. You now know you can manage an almost handheld shot at 1/50 and still get eye-popping details!

Hey, hey, hey... I thought I am God's favorite. Well, that makes two of us already. Syl, can you imagine capturing the beauty of God's handiwork- that is the great motivation. Keep showing them. Take a bow, Syl. You made many hearts very happy. telyd
