I can't process newly captured pics so here's my share using Romy's 300D and Bigma at 500mm taken in 2004 in Tabunan, Cebu. Nilo, This one should be easy, so I will let you ID this bird.

Here's another full frame capture of the OBS. I was lucky to get the exposure spot on on this one, where you can see the colors of it's throat. Most of the photos I got with this bird shows only a black throat with a hint of blue on the sides. Olive-backed Sunbird - Male ( Cinnyris jugularis) 30D + 300 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, ISO 800, f9, 1/350, Hand held, RAW Click here or on the Photo for a larger version. Cheers, Neon

While sitting at home pondering what to do with my full HDD out came a female Brown Shrike just outside the window. Have to step back to get the minimum focusing distance. Here's how it looked. Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus) - - 40D + 300 f4 L IS + Kenko 1.4x TCs, 420 mm, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, Hand held Cheers, Neon

Brilliant captures of the OB Sunbird and Brown Shrike, Neon.... with the details, these should print fine to at least 12"x16"!

You must have been very close to this one William.... you need more than full frame to take the whole bird in!

Let me bump this thread with a capture from yesterday's Candaba sortie.... a shot in 5:42 pm soft light. ;D I got so close to this baby that I had to tell birding buddy Arnold to back up our vehicle a bit so I can fit the bird in the frame with a 700 mm (faster to reverse the car than to remove the 1.4x TC). Lesser Coucal ( Centropus bengalensis) 40D + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/7.1, 1/80 sec, ISO 800, manual exposure, bean bag, resized full frame:

Ka Romy, I modified it a bit. I am using my MAC Iphoto pp. , very limited. Sometimes, the screen can be deceiving-can be too light or too dark.
The sunbirds, YBS, PFantails are like crazy in my garden, daily, ha. I know when there is a shrike around, they are all noisy. No stalking. I am often sitted in my office chair, my pc is just very close to the wide door to my garden, my camera always within arm reach. I am using Nestor's lens.
Thanks for the comment. te lyd
