Congratulations to Ely T. for nailing this close-up of a skittish and tiny Philippine endemic! Thank you Romy for your correction on my wrong ID of this bird. I did not know that its a Pygmy Flowerpecker and endemic to the Philippines. Its a lifer for me with FBPOTW recognition. Its going to be a beautiful Sunday.

Whenever I look at bird photos, I try to imagine how the photo was taken. And knowing the size and weight of your rig Sir Ely, I know capturing this lovely and very skittish bird in a picture is a feat in itself, and add to that the millions of details! Truly a BOTW photo!
Congrats!

The capture of this bird was not expected. I supposed this also goes for other birds. It was a blessing in disguise as I thought it was a YBFC. Were it not for its clear shot I would not have shared it. I am glad that I did. Thank you Tonji and thank you Edu.

Congrats Ely for bagging your fourth Bird Photo of the Week. Great feather details and the nice catchlight made this very deserving. I'm sure a lot more of these are coming our way.

Sometimes we are able to put all the pieces together in one place. I sure hope that this would happen more often. Thank you Elvin and Don.

Your photographs alway breath life in you subjects. An earlier post said, "you made a giant out of a mere 3" bird", is very true. Your tenacity and keen eye allows us to enjoy the beauty of these birds from the comfort of our homes. Appreciate all the hard work.
