This endemic parrot is not so tough to find, but it's challenging to photograph well because it's always on the move and rarely uses a clear perch. Congrats to Neon for bagging this capture with excellent pose and detail!

Congratulations Neon. I agree with Romy that this bird is hard to photograph. You got a clear shot and rightly rewarded for the accomplishment. Well done. Mabuhay.

Wow!! Thanks Ka Mastah for this honor!! Yup I must agree with your comments that indeed this is a common species but it's rare to see it in open perch. Here's another behavior shot of this species from UPD again. A mother bird feeding its fledgling. 40D + 600 mm f4 IS + 1.4 Sigma TC, f7.1, 1/320 sec, ISO 640, Tv priority, Manual Exposure, Tripod-Gimbal support, PP in sRGB color space. Another photo salvaged from my crashed HDD. Just happy to have retrieve some but a lot more has gone into cyberspace heaven for good.

Wow.... great action on the second one, and nice job on exposure control!
Re your downed HDD, try to use as many free recovery software as you can find, as some of these work on certain files better than others.

I like the second picture a lot. The first picture has a red patch on the chest, is that the male? Beautiful shot Neon.
