It might have taken a while for experts to ID this bird, but it's all worth it in the end - it turned out this is a rare capture of the male of this Palawan endemic. Big congrats to Ely T. !

Thank you very much Romy. What initially was classified as a gloomy trip because of the rain turned out to be a blessing in disguise with the capture of this rarely photograph bird. I am happy to share this with everyone so that more people will be aware of the importance of birds in our enviroment. Mabuhay.

Thank you Edu, Tonji, & Manny. I would say I was lucky with this bird. As we all know luck plays a big part in bird photography. You have to look for the bird and hope that he will give you the pose that will make him look like a bird in its natural habitat. A leaf or a twig can obstruct the picture. The settings of the camera plays an important role. We all hope that the sun would shine on the bird so that we will have the perfect light. A lot of us would like to take pictures the way Romy & Neon produces their pictures. I have been told that you have to take tens of thousands of pictures to be able to do that. I believe in that. As the old saying goes, "Practice makes perfect". Let us try to follow the exemplary ways of Tonji & Sylvia who goes out to take bird pictures whenever they can even when its raining. After doing all of this, we can also hope that our luck would improve. Mabuhay.

Thank you. Salamat po. Mucho gracias. Tosha (Thank you in Chinese) Nestor, Rey, Alain, and Asmatias. I wish I had discovered Bird Photography much earlier. On the other hand it may not have been as much fun as I am having now with the new technology on equipment and other paraphenelias like computer, digital full frame, gigabytes memory card, adobe photo shop, etc. It may not be profitable money wise but it certainly is exciting and something to look forward to in our dialy lives.
