I found this forum via Romy's excellent site and decided to join there and then - not that I really need to belong to another forum, I belong to loads of them already!
I am English and do most of my birding and photography in the UK, but I also like traveling for birds and will be in Australia and south-east Asia from May 2009.
Cheers FJ

Welcome to the board Fay_J. I was in London a few weeks ago for the launch of the Philippine Birdwatching Guidebook and you may have spotted the double-decker buses with photos from our PBPF members. I squeezed in some birding in the Leigh-on sea and had my fill of Brent geese, oystercatchers, godwits, curlews, redshanks, dunlins, and black-headed gulls. It was cold, cold, cold!

Thanks everyone!
Jonathan - I will be in Sydney sometime late June or early July.
Perubukid, sadly, I've not seen the London buses with the Philippine birds on, as I don't live in London and haven't been there for a couple of years (Heathrow Airport excepted).
My schedule for my trip is fluid, after my visit to Australia, I am heading for Thailand, but that's not set in stone, so I was wondering about making a trip to the Philippines as well. I understand that it is the wet season in July and August, but is it still good birding there at that time?

Welcome to the board Fay_J. For some, raining season is off for birding, but for birdnuts.... birding in the Philippines can be done anytime, anywhere... day or night
