Guys, I noticed that so many of us go out of town. Blue Cross Insurance covers land travel provided the trip is outside of Manila. Minimum is 4 days coverage. You can go Subic and then San Juan, Batangas within 4 days and you pay only P310.00. (While in Manila, you are not covered). You can deposit the payment to any BPI branch near you and I can have you covered. The commission is very little but I am willing to do it for PBP members. This is to any point in the Philippines, the premium increases for more days of coverage. I do international coverage, too. (Airline tickets too but not domestic). telyd text me : 0920-91818-27

Do you have some type of coverage for balikbayans too (which covers MM)? What's covered? Medical, life, etc. ?
Thanks.

Good idea. Can Neon get one for his 600mm, too?

Hmmm, good question Ding. It may require another premium, much more expensive than for Neon. Ha, ha. No, sorry, electrical devices are not covered. For domestic, it's mainly accident insurance, includes 3rd party damage, too.
Ted, from your end, the coverage should be for the international itinerary so Metro Manila is covered.

For domestic, it's basically an accident insurance. No high risk sports. Coverage: Medical 1M, Personal Accident P1.5M, Personal Liability P1M
For international: Baggage Delay, lost and damage, trip cancellation/termination are included.
Medical and physical conditions existing prior to travel like high-blood, diabetes etc. are not covered.

Hi Telyds! Seriously, do you know of anyone offering yearly insurance for equipment? Cheerps! Hi Ivan, I'm sorry, Ivan. All electronics are not covered and I still have to find an insurance company that does that. But you should be covered, your life is more valuable unless you are an orphan or a bachelor. Well, if that is the case, you can make the Philippine Butterfly Habitat Conservation Society your beneficiary, or the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (second priority) or the PBP if it has registered already, he, he. telyd

Have you checked Malayan Insurance? I remember seeing a leaflet for insurance for photographers which included equipment. I was thinking of getting one for my brother then.

Thanks Mela and Tins, I read it- pretty interesting. I guess, those of you who really value your cameras dearly can avail of what Andrew Go of Malayan is offering. It covers people, too. I can also sell Malayan, being a legit. travel agency and for sure there will be high incentives because the premium is quite high. I'm offered Blue Cross more for the personal accident insurance. On a week-end its only P310.00. Very cheap security for the family. I noticed that many go out of town not thinking about this.
