I wasn't disappointed at all when the fruiting tree that I saw a month ago was oh so ready for the picking ... by the birds of course I saw about 6 species of birds feeding on one tree while I was shooting to my heart's content. What a day it truly was. Thanks a lot TJ. It was Mang Danny from Trees who taught me about how long it takes (more or less) once you see the small green fruits of this tree to ripen. Forgot the name of the tree though HehHEheHEHhEhe

Thanks a lot Manny.
Since you're going to Anvaya this week, maybe you should pass by that tree to check it out. In the 2 days that we were there, the hornbills always dropped by to join the regulars - the coletos, bulbuls and the guaiaberos.

Now, why can't I have some of that "Plain Tina Magic" rub off on me when I go to Subic!
Am green with envy on those great shots, Tina!

Thanks a lot Master IDOL Romy.
Those tree swifts are just adorable. There are a lot of them in the afternoon along *PM me for the location*
Sad thing I saw there was a man with a child carrying a cage with a coleto inside. I stopped and asked them why they caught the bird when it's "bawal" and the man answered " Isa lang naman eh" (one only) so I said kahit na isa yan, bawal pa din ho manghuli ng ibon dito (even if you only caught one, it's still prohibited to catch birds in this area). Haaaaaay naku !!!!!

Plain Mastah Tina, yung "isa lang" na Coleto ay gagawing "bait" para dumapo yung iba. They usually tie the bird to a branch, then smear it with some sticky stuff. When other birds come by to investigate, they land near the captured bird and get stuck along with it. Before you know it, a whole bunch of them will have become stuck on that branch or twig, ready for "harvesting." Tsk. tsk.

Nice pair Tins.
The swift looks like his mug shot is being taken. LOL. And the hornbill seems shy.
