Bon jour!
Vincent, just want to welcome you to PBPF. Lots of nice people here. I personally haven't been to Negros Oriental myself, but almost every island has some interesting birds. Though specific locations are not openly discussed in this forum, there's a bird sanctuary and a mangrove park in Negros. I'll leave it to the experts to chime in.
I heard that the bleeding-heart will be quite an interest, among other bird species.

Welcome Vincent. I am from Negros Occidental, the other province in the Negros island, although I haven't tried birding as I started this addicting hobby when I was already in Manila working. I hope I can have some time this Christmas.
@ted: I didn't know about this bird sanctuary or mangrove park in Negros, but now that I do, it sure makes going home more exciting. ;D
