Commonly photographed birds will be priced at P 7000.00
Uncommon/rare bird will be priced at P 10,000.00
Hi Ivan,
Have you finalized the lists for the above? Would like to see which species belong to uncommon/rare birds.

It's ok to put a watermark on your photos for the prelims but the final submission has to be clean.
Master Romy, the very first post of this thread has the list of the commonly photographed species. Anything outside of this list is to be considered rare/uncommon. The total birdlist is still being updated with corrections and additions from the WBCP elders and I will post them here as soon as I get them.

I suppose if you do not allow watermarks on the photos for the final submission, it would ONLY BE FAIR that you guys put the photographer's name beside EACH photo.
*plain tina thinking out loud and wondering*

If you have'nt submitted yet, it might also be better to place in separate folders, the species that you have multiples of. I will suggest to the panel that the approach is by species because some of these commoner birds will reappear in several sites.
It would also help if you initial the filename of the image with your id. (e.g. chestnut muniaIJS) so it can help with the tracking when the selections are made.
Apologies for the new "suggestions". We're just shooting from the hip at this point. Whew!

It's the designer's call as to the credits but I do remember from the plan that there is to be a credit page for all photos. They referred to a guidebook from Taiwan for the page plan and look.

from Mike Lu - President of The Wild Bird Club of the Philippines Dear Friends In my last email, I forgot to mention that photographs for the book were also selected from the collections of Orly Punzalan, Benedict de Laender and Ivan Sarenas. All photographers, whose photos were selected, will be invited to the book launching with Secretary Durano along with foreign delegates to the birdfest, the WBCP Execom, and 500 foreign and local tour operators at a dinner reception to be held on September 10 at the Grand Ballroom of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. We had another long session yesterday (Monday) from 10am to 9 pm, finalizing the details. Here are some updates: 1. Layout artist Robert Alejandro had shown me the draft layout and he had opted NOT to use all the photos we selected for the book. Since we have already asked the photographers to send in the hi-resolution copies, we have decided that all the photos will be paid for irregardless of the whether the photos will be used in the book or not. The photos may still be used by the DOT in other promotional materials. 2. The book project is a joint undertaking of the DOT and the ROX. The contract to procure the photos is between the DOT and the WBCP. As the signatory, I will follow-up on the payment. As announced on my joint email with Ivan Sarenas, payment shall be made within 90 days of book launch on September 10, 2008. I believe it will be sooner. I would like to assure members of the Club that I do not stand to earn a single peso from the sale of the book nor will I be paid for my services. I have my reason for supporting this project and have attended countless meetings since this project started. Even though we may not fully support the direction the Department of Tourism is taking in promoting birdwatching, I believe that our participation can somehow lessen the impact from the wrong decisions they will SURELY be making. The president of the Philippine Tour Operators Association, Mr Cesar Cruz, has joined the bird club and avidly reads all our email exchange. This will be the start of a long learning process between tour operators and birdwatchers and I believe it will work out for the best. *** Tito Cesar, whoever did the birdlist for your proposed tour programs should be shot ! We spent extra time editing the bird list yesterday ... from mis-spellings, wrong syntax and totally new species like the White VIntage Shama ! Mike
