The Mabuhay Inflight Magazine for August features PBP Members Ding Carpio, Rey Sta. Ana and TJ Parpan and WBCP member Alex Loinaz. Anyone flying PAL this month? Take home the mag. They give them away to passengers for free. Can someone please get me an extra copy so I can have them autographed by the celebrities? lyd

Got my copy the other day. There's not much content and the images are not that great. They didn't even put the names of the birds. My Canon print-out of the same IBK image is a whole lot better, Nestor's Sunbird was very dark in the face. The focus actually is with the photogs but could have been a lot better if the birds were identified and printed with some info.
At any rate, Ding's images were featured very well. The main photo was on a full page layout and there's another one in the first few pages of the mag. DIng should be very happy with that.
Anyway, still thankful to be featured in a prestigious mag.

I feel so sorry about your photos, Rey, as well as the others. You're right, mine came out OK. But, as I show off the pages to my officemates and family, I keep telling them the mag didn't do justice to the rest of you guys. I know you all have much better photos than those. That's why I've been quiet about it though I had my mag copies for a few days now. Yes, they didn't put the names of the birds. And two birds were even the same (WTKFs). BTW, I was informed that they'll pay me a small (and I mean small) amount for using my Scaly-breasted munia in the Staff Box (page 2). Once I get the checque, I'll frame it. Really guys, though I'm happy getting published, somehow my joy is dampened. Ah well, let's show 'em by getting published in National Geographic!

Noooooooooo, Ding..... don't frame the original check, just a color photocopy of it. Let's encash it then drown ourselves with ice-cold rum-coke + UP isaw (barbecued chicken intestines from UP Diliman)! ;D ;D ;D

To non-locals: IUD = chicken intestines (they do look like IUDs) adidas = chicken feet

Thanks in advance. By the way. Caloy Libosada, the one who linked you with Mabuhay said he did not have a hand in the selection and info on the birds. He was not very pleased as well. Well, there are no mistakes, only lessons learned. Naku, di bale, guapo naman kayo lahat. Mabuhay kayo! telyds
