Very much a newbie...heck haven't even experienced birding yet but surely will this September Really excited about it so I'm trying to gather as much info as I can through this forum. Welcome aboard, Dino! I think it's my moral duty to warn you that wild bird photography is very addicting and might not be healthy to one's pockets and work schedule. We're a bunch of happy birdnuts, though.

Welcome aboard, Dino! I think it's my moral duty to warn you that wild bird photography is very addicting and might not be healthy to one's pockets and work schedule. We're a bunch of happy birdnuts, though. Dino, welcome aboard. It's true, these guys are NUTS. (that title is not limited to the birders on this forum, that applies to all bird photographers)They are like pushers, if you know what I mean. They will tease you with all those magnificent captures. And you'll end up mesmerized and wanting to do the same. And by the time you know some details on what it takes to be one, you're hooked and no going back. Having said all that, you're doing the right thing. This hobby (or work, if you plan to make this a means of income), is really fun and enjoyable. Taking a good capture is always a challenge, and actually making one is an adrenaline booster. To some people, we're crazy. Because they see us often smiling (and shouting for joy at times) just by ourselves, looking at the camera's LCD or when infront of the computer. So be prepared. Good luck, and most of all, enjoy! ;D ;D
