It is simply amazing to see these frisky Crimson Sunbirds and some Olive-backed Sunbirds fight over a large patch of Torch Ginger. This is located in the 150 hectare farm of Josef Sagemuller in Barangay San Miguel. A mere half an hour from Bacolod city, one can see a beautiful natural environment covered with various kinds of trees. There is also a lagoon with Koi and tilapia living together in a crystal clear pond that is continuously filled with fresh mountain water. They also have cottages for vacationers, a swimming pool, a plant nursery with almost all the kinds of endemic orchids and other good looking plants for gardens and homes. If you like to commune with nature and see birds that come and go every 10-15 minutes, this is certainly a place that is worthwhile to see and enjoy.

It is the Masskara festival at this time of the year at Bacolod and the atmosphere is festive. There will be parades and street dancing this weekend. This is how some of the mask will look like that people will be wearing. They even have electric mask that they wear at night. I will try to attend it if time will permit. These picture were taken with my Canon S100 which is very handy for me to carry around. The image quality is very good.
