Great shot mark! Great detail and colors, Mark! I kinda miss these guys, my neighborhood shrike hasn't arrive yet. ka Mastah, where do they go during these times? I remember when I was still growing up in the province, these birds come in so plenty when mushrooms bloom just about everywhere. elders associate them with mushrooms and better times.

Great shot, Mark! I hope to catch those early Brown Shrikes so we can post them here.
Ka Mastah and the Moderators, how about launching an effort to take pictures of the early migrants like the brown shrikes, black winged stilts, swallows and terns so we can document the start of the migration period? Just an idea.

Beautiful capture Mark. Must be one of your best one's so far. I thought it's one of the early arrivals of the mini-raptor.

ka Mastah, where do they go during these times? IIRC, they cross the South China Sea to breed up north, perhaps in parts of the Chinese land mass. Ka Mastah and the Moderators, how about launching an effort to take pictures of the early migrants like the brown shrikes, black winged stilts, swallows and terns so we can document the start of the migration period? Just an idea. Hehe.... many of us are already doing this Alain. My early visit to the Coastal Lagoon is one such trip, PropJerry's report on the early San Juan migrants is another. Great that our photos have EXIF data, we can always confirm the time and date of observation/capture.
