Wild Birds of the Philippines
There are about 614 species of Philippine birds, and 194 of these are endemic to our islands. Over 10% of these species are globally threatened.
By imaging these magnificent winged creatures in their natural habitat and sharing the pictures and footages through the web, we hope that in our own little way we can help raise awareness for the protection of their habitat.
We wish that the children of our children will still be able to behold their beauty long after our generation is gone.
PBPF hosts the searchable, most complete online Photo-Guide to the Birds of the Philippines. A work in progress, all photos were taken by PBPF photographers in-habitat. Species represented - 482 out of 614 as of November 7, 2009.

Some forum rules to live by « Thread Started on Mar 11, 2008, 12:31am »
Hi gang,
Welcome to our forums and here's listing some rules that we need to observe so we can run our place smoothly. The boards are a work in progress, and we'll just add more rules from time to time, as needed..
1. As the forums have an international membership, please make your posts in English so everybody understands each other.
2. No size limit to embedded photos as of now, but try to keep it at 1200 pixels or less in the longer dimension for easier viewing. When we'll notice that the boards are slowing down, we might set size limits in the future.
3. In the Buy/Sell/Swapping Corner, all transactions are the sole responsibility of the seller, buyer and/or swapper.
4. Please don't post detailed bird locations on the boards, as this can be used by unscrupulous parties (hunters, poachers and the like) who are out to harm our subjects. We need to mention only the general area (ex. - Makiling, Subic, Candaba, etc.). If location detail needs to be shared, it can be done via email or PM.
5. Please don't embed images, videos or any other objects in the boards without the copyright owner's permission. A link to the object will be more appropriate.
6. Each one is encouraged to observe the "Golden Internet Forum Rule" - The more you participate in others' threads, the more often others will post in yours.
7. Only members with ten (10) or more posts are allowed to open threads in the Trading Board, but all registered members may post queries or other information in the threads. This rule is effective October 1, 2008.
