Inspite of the daily rains, I took a chance to go out this morning and went to Cerro Lodge near Carara National Park. During Ely's trip, we went to this same place but never got anything. I arrived at the lodge around 6:30am, took a couple of pictures in a two-hour span then left when the rain was about to come. All pictures taken using EOS 7D+400mm f/5.6L lens, ISO 400

This is the bird that I was telling you about. We did go to the park but the bird was not there. Good for you, that you were able to take a picture of this beautiful crested bird. I guess its impossible to be able to take pictures of every bird that one would like to. Super shot of this bird, this must be close to full frame. Well done Ariel & Mabuhay.

Yes Ely, I got lucky last week when I went to Cerro Lodge. It was the same place when we had lunch after our trip to Carara National Park. During our time there, there wasn't enough bird as it was already late. The staff told me that this bird is a regular visitor every morning.

Beautiful bird. Except for the solid blue color wings and longer tail, it has a resemblance with our blue jay.
