My first field test of the PhotoRobo at Olango Bird sanctuary was unexpectedly graced by the presence of Ralph Nabong, he'd been there the previous day as well and was blessed with many birds at that time. However, the place was just about bird-less this time: I was able to capture some images of a Whimbrel though, the first ever photos I have captured remotely using the PhotoRobo device: Canon EOS 450D; Tv (1/800); f/5.6; 400 mm; ISO: 200 Exposure Bias: +2/3 EV Canon EOS 450D; Tv (1/1000); f/5.6; 400 mm; ISO: 200 Exposure Bias: +2/3 EV

I am not familiar with your Robotic gadget, perhaps you can elaborate on it. I like the Whimbrel with the captured crab. Well done Bobby. Mabuhay.

Bobby K ... Your robot is working well ! Let's do a field test in Bohol and Nug-as Doc, the basic design of the PhotoRobo does not lend itself to mountainous terrain. It's going to be used only for shorebirds and waders. I already have a design in mind for a multi-level remote unit that may be useful even in vegetation-rich environments. However, when Osawa arrives, you can be sure we will go to Nug-as and Bohol as well. We are also looking at Camiguin in the not-so-distant future. :-)

Thank you very much for the kind appreciation guys. It seems that shore birds do not react to the presence of the gadget, even when it moves, but it is very hard to get a lock on just one individual if there are not many birds around. :-)

Congratulations on the successful robocam initial outing, Bobby. Next project is to design a flying robocam to fly with the birds to take BIF's

Wowowww.... excellent early results, Bobby! I'd like to see a video of the PhotoRobo stalking a wader, interspersed with the remote operator (who I trust won't be in undies this time).

Ahihihihi, thank you guys for the very encouraging remarks. The next one will hopefully have a mechanism to raise and lower the lens as well. :-)
