Even the de facto birding bible Kennedy Guide was not able to present a description of the immature of this endemic montane shrike.
For spotlighting this young bird well, Ely's amazing capture easily gets my vote as this week's Featured Bird Photo. Aside from having good aesthetics, the photo is a big step forward in the documentation of the endemic birds of the Philippines. Now, we know how a young Lanius validirostris looks like!
Super congrats Ely on bagging the FBPOTW for two weeks in a row..... keep up the excellent work!
